18.04.2011 Lift Consultants Are on Their Way to The Top

London based international lift consultancy company, The Lift Consultancy, have just launched their high tech website design by WebMediaUK. The website site features an advanced content management system (CMS) based on the industry standard Wordpress. Administrators of the site can create content and place it in various positions around the site. There is also a clients area where regular users can find downloads and other industry related resources.

"We can login and change pretty much any content on the website, this will keep our site looking fresh and the users coming back ..."

Gabriel Murray of The Lift Consultancy said "WebMediaUK advised us every step of the way when it came to creating our website."
The website uses PHP and a Wordpress backbone to provide fast and flexible content. Another great feature is the dynamic XML sitemap which tells Google, and the other search engines, when the site changes which is great for ranking highly in searches.

16.09.2010 Get-A-Grip Tyres Get On Track With Ruby On Rails

Mobile tyre fitters Get-A-Grip Tyres have expanded their website to include a page for each area they service. We used Ruby on Rails to create a database driven application so that Get-A-Grip can add there own set of pages for each town they service with no knowledge of HTML! Since implementing the system their web traffic has tripled and owner Jeremy Sullivan says "The business is going from strength to strength because of our massively improved web presence... We are now becoming competitive with our biggest rivals". We also made some subtle changes to the website to improve it's ranking with the big search engines and we look forward to a long relationship with Get-A-Grip as they grow.

Another Successful Graduate Recruitment Year For MBDA

WebMediaUK have been working with the international defence company MBDA for 5 years now. 5 years ago MBDA came to us and asked if we could build them an online recruitment application to increase the number of applications they received for their graduate programme. We did just that and built a system using ASP and Microsoft IIS as the server. This increased the number of applications and allowed candidates to find out more about the positions online. 2 years after the creation of the system MBDA were receiving hundreds of applications and so the system was rebuilt to take the increased usage.
We re-wrote the whole system from the ground up using Java, Tomcat as the server and MySQL as the database. This version of the system, which we also host and manage, has now been live for 2 years and deals with over 1000 applications a year.

"The web site has been a great success story for us..."

Nicola Jay of MBDA Recruitment said "we have had a great working relationship with WebMediaUK and they have managed to deliver everything we have asked for and more. The web site has been a great success story for us"
The web site has reduced the manual effort to recruit people into MBDA and also provided MBDA with a reporting system to help them recruit more effectively.
MBDA now plan to extend the system for use in other countries where they have branches... with the help of WebMediaUK of course!

We helped Get A Grip Tyres by finding out more about them, and finding out what their competitors were doing. With a small budget it was decided to simply setup a 2 page web site, and create an email inbox so they could at receive emails. Flying Spit are a Hertfordshire based catering and marquee hire company. They came to us as their present web site was very dated and amateur. They wanted to attract more clients and show more of the services they offered. We used a template and their own images to create this very sophisticated and tasteful web site for Flying Spit. With it's revised structure they can show much more information about pricing and the services they provide.
